The county museum is referred to as a “life museum,” as it depicts all facets of Brooke County’s ancestors’ lives by way of 38 display areas.
Those areas include a barber shop through a wash room. The education area is extensive and popular. Besides those, the other 35 displays include home, farm, employment, sports, military, and transportation, plus the American Indian artifacts and more. Thanks to the citizens, the items cover from apple peelers to a zither.
The Culture Center is known for comfort, with 13 padded pews.
Since recently moving into the former G.C. Murphy 5 & 10, our open hours are Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, 1-5pm, April through November, plus by appointment. Our address is 704 Charles Street, Wellsburg.
We are volunteers waiting to introduce you to our – and your – family’s past: how they lived, worked, played, and prayed.
