“Celebrate West Virginia” is a weekend-long celebration of West Virginia Day! A kickoff celebration, held Thursday June 22 from 4-7 PM at Spark! Imagination and Science Center, will feature live music and food. Representatives from museums and historic sites in the community will present family-friendly activities and information about their organization.
Throughout the weekend, area museums and historic sites will have special, family-friendly events (all of which will be free). Participating organizations are Spark! Imagination and Science Center, Royce J. and Caroline B. Watts Museum, Art Museum of WVU, West Virginia Botanic Garden, Old Hemlock Foundation, Monongalia Historical Society, WVU Libraries/West Virginia & Regional History Center, and Arthurdale Heritage, Inc.
Pick up a passport at the kickoff event (or at any participating location) and get it stamped when you participate in a “Celebrate West Virginia” event. Participate in three and you will be entered to win a prize! Prizes include tickets to a West Virginia Black Bear baseball game, jump passes for Launchpad Trampoline Park, a birthday party at the WVU Student Rec Center, and more! The back page of passports must be turned in at a participating location by July 2 to be eligible for prizes.
